First Quarter Field Trip Schedule & T-shirt Orders
Please see the first quarter field trips below. Please note that all field trips must be paid by August 2, 2024.
The total amount due for first quarter field trips totals $106/student. We will let you know where to send the money in a future email.
The attire that needs to be worn for each trip is also listed on the sheet. Please remember to pack a sack lunch that can be thrown out afterwards. No lunch boxes please.
We are also taking orders for the new field trip t-shirts. Please send your child’s name along with their t-shirt size and let us know if they wear a child’s size or adult size. The T-shirt cost is $25 each.
This year, we have added Community Service Projects to our Field Trip Schedule so that we can start teaching our students how to "serve" and "give back" to the community or to others. They will take place once a month.
What Is Community Service?
Community service is work done by a person or group of people that benefits others. It is often done near the area where you live, so your own community reaps the benefits of your work. You do not get paid to perform community service, though sometimes food and small gifts, like a t-shirt, are given to volunteers.
Community service can help any group of people in need: children, senior citizens, people with disabilities, English language learners, and more. It can also help animals, such as those at a shelter, and it can be used to improve places, such as a local park, historic building, or scenic area as well.
Community service is often organized through a local group, such as a place of worship, school, or non-profit organization. You can also start your own community service projects.
Some students are required to complete community service as part of a class requirement in order to graduate high school or become a member of certain organizations, such as the National Honor Society. Adults can also participate in community service as a way to help others or if they are ordered to do so by a judge.
God loves a cheerful giver!

Behavioral Counseling
We have found a different counseling agency for our students. Positive Growth as you will read has a very strong focus on working with youth. If you are interested, please fill out the form below and return it back to the school. Even if you do not have insurance or are unsure if your insurance will be accepted, fill out the referral form located here. They will still service our students who do not currently have insurance. Also, they have a summer program for teens. They are located less than 10 minutes away from the school. We have met with them and are very pleased by the level of service we believe they will provide the children at our school.
For students that may have Autism
Here are the next steps for anyone seeking services with Georgia Behavior Associates:
Parent Welcome Packet - Below you will find a letter which outlines the process for receiving services. It includes information about the timeline of receiving services (page 2) as well as the insurances the company accepts (page 3).
Intake Process - The main next step for parents ready to pursue services is to submit this 2-part intake.
Initial Form - This form requests the bare minimum that is needed to verify the client's insurance benefits. As soon as this is received, the company will submit your information to insurance to receive your benefit information.
Complete Intake Form - This form requests more lengthy information including specific client availability and developmental history.
